A preconference meeting participant is expected to email confirmation of her/his participation (name & family name, academic title, position, organization, country, email address) to Mr Jaka Črnivec, University Alliances Manager, SAP South East Europe, Jaka.Crnivec@SAP.com . The names of the participants will be published at the meeting’s website.
Meeting Outline
The grammar, undergraduate and graduate students and their instructors are invited to engage in innovative cross-border eSolutions and eServices prototypes development in cooperation with the organizations – prototype recipients in at least two countries. Students’ prototypes are an important proof of concept on how a problem in a cross-border interorganizational system could be solved.
Close cooperation of the schools and businesses with the ICT providers is essential. The experience of the 2015 preconference meeting Regional SAP University Alliance Meeting with Extended Invitation to the Rectors & Deans in the Danube Region was very encouraging.
Objectives
The meeting’s presenters, panelists and participants will be looking for the suggested development directions and possible eCollaboration opportunities in achieving the following objectives:
Obtained insight into business processes. Graduates are expected to have a basic understanding of problem solving methodology and team work in a business environment. Many organizations which are already good at managing their internal business processes are now confronted by the challenges of creating the interorganizational processes. They are looking for eBusiness improvement opportunities in the processes with their customers and suppliers.
Improved eCollaboration of schools and businesses. Schools cooperating with the businesses in local environment can create an environment for students’ projects and diploma thesis. A selected problem defined by a manager – problem owner – is a starting point of the prototype development leading to a modest, however realistic business proposal delivered by the student(s) – problem solvers. Particularly small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) may appreciate support provided by the students’ projects.
Hands-on experience with the ICT-based interorganizational systems. Understanding design and implementation principles of ICT-based processes (eBusiness) is not possible without basic understanding of a potential power and complexity of the eSolutions and eServices. Learning-by- doing in a real world with a real technology is a very practical approach. It is required in the environment of the cross-country initiatives and standards in order to implement industry 4.0 concepts in a sustainable way..
Increased employability of the graduates. To the school management, educational ministry and a country as a whole, a growing issue is the (un)employability of the graduates. Based on examples of best practices, the engaging of the students into practical “e” projects is a recommended way to go. For that purpose, numerous tasks have to be accomplished in a coordinated manner by the stakeholders involved. Experimentation in open innovation may be recommended.
Better chances for involvement in joint cross-border projects. Schools being good at ICT usage and open to eCollaboration are looked for by other schools in the neighboring countries. Schools of such capacity can be the coordinators of joint business interest in working together in the neighborhooding based eRegion. Such schools are ready to prepare for the next level of eCollaboration.
