The cross-border eLogistics, eProcurement, eGovernment, eMunicipalities, eLearning, eTourism, eCulture, eHealth, eSMEs, eSecurity, and other eAreas are vital to the competitiveness of the cross-border regions. In Central and South East Europe that means the Danube, the Adriatic & Ionian, and the Alpine regions. From a bigger picture perspective, it is about the competitiveness of the eRegions on the New eAmber and New eSilk Roads.

In Slovenia, the Inter-Municipality Initiative: Cross-border eCollaboration in the eRegions has been under way since February 2011. A similar initiative may also be of interest to some organizations from other countries, which may like to accelerate the cross-border eCollaboration in order to contribute to the increased competitiveness of the companies, organizations, the countries and the region as a whole.

The initiative is organizing the 6th eRegions Conference 2016: Cross-border eSolutions & eServices Prototypes Development taking place on Monday-Tuesday, September 19-20, 2016. Location: Castle Jable, Grajska cesta 1, 1234 Mengeš, Slovenia. Some of the conference’s program components are published already.

In the meeting (the working language will be English), the opportunities of involvement in the conference’s program and preparations of potential joint EU projects will be discussed. The participants are invited to consider interest in being actively involved on the panels, or in the prototype presentations.

Your participation at the meeting would be much appreciated. Please, fell free to contact Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Budapest, Mr. Rok Tomšič, (Rok.Tomsic@gov.si, phone: 1/438 56 16) or Ms Dragica Gaspar (Dragica.G@gov.si, phone: 1/438 56 10) for your participation as well as further information of the meeting. The coordinates of the participants (name, position, organization, e-mail) will be published at this website.

Attached is a copy of a letter sent by Mr Gábor Huszár, Mayor, City of Szentgotthárd. He is proposing that each participating city (municipality) would arrange for some creative thinking secondary school students to attend the eRegions Conference on September 19-20, 2016 . He is positive that e-communication is  significantly closer to the mindset of this age group.
