About the Inter-Municipality Initiative
The Inter-Municipality Initiative: Cross-border eCollaboration in the eRegions has been under way since February 2011. Its development is documented by the memos of the meetings. The names of the organizations involved and the Members are published.
A major focus of the initiative is to encourage organizations having interest in any aspect of cross-border eBusiness in the region to engage in a joint Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) based prototype development. A prototype is the beginning of an action leading to a possible joint EU project proposal of an eSolution or an eService development solving a problem shared by the organization in at least three countries.
Prototype presentations are in a line with the Living Labs and the Open Innovation concept and methodology. The Living Labs promote user-driven methods and tools for improving the real-world development of products and services. A special focus is at the cross-border eSolutions and eServices. At the national level the idea on the Living Labs has been promoted by the action Innovation for Life Quality – Slovenia Living Lab in June 2007.
Activities of the initiative are the following: thematic meetings, workshops, prototypes development, annual conference The eRegions Conference: Cross-border eSolutions & eServices Prototypes Development. Its members represent various organizations.
